/>HaHaHa ! ! Daily - the question was meant for serious , not for elitists
who repeat what their liberal professors say and rewritten history.Your BS
is showing !
So many failed liberal programs that are still on the
books, sucking up our taxes - do we really need more ?

Security
War on Poverty
Welfare that wiped out the Black family
(thank you Repubs for reforming it )
The list is endless.

understand. Post the numbers, or retract ur asinine talking point. Do keep
in mind that you must justify ur claim by proving that the economy would
have grown at the fastest-in-US history average rate of 6.5% per year from
1933 to 1940, or breakneck rate of 9.5% per annum from 1933-1937 (the
height of the New Deal) - ur choice which.

Now then, as to taxing oil, YES - DO IT NOW. Everyone realizes we're at or
near peak oil, & thus it is clear that clean energy technology will be the
next big industrial project, but there is too much uncertainty about
future prices for investors to go ahead on their own. These projects have
a large fixed cost component & very low variable costs, so putting a floor
on the price of oil would be a huge help towards getting investment flowing
back to productive uses.

# Edit #

What is ur definition of ''failure,'' & why did those programs fail? As it
stands, you're merely asserting that they ipso facto failed because you
don't like them. Sorry, but you have to compare something with something
else, not just assert ur distaste. While you're thinking on that, here is
what I have to say about them:

Social Security - in most respects, a terrific success. Fully half of the
elderly were living in squalor prior to the creation of Social Security,
its creation caused this phenomenon to all but disappear within a decade,
& today it is less than 5%. Now, the boomers tried to get off not paying
their share, & they should not be allowed to do so. But that is far from a
fundamental failing.

War on Poverty - That was a Johnson-era initiative. Next.

Welfare - Your assertion that welfare ''wiped out the black family'' is so
incredibly ignorant as to defy any need for comment. I agree that it was
flawed in many respects, but to blame only that factor, when the reality
is vastly more complicated, is just stupid. Further, that is not to say it
was not necessary at the time. Don't even try to pretend that you know what
conditions were like at the nadir of the Great Depression.

Raising taxes during a recession always prolongs the recession.
